Sallymatu’s core values of giving back to the community that have giving her so much had drawn her to this sector and more importantly Empathy Community Service. Sallymatu believes Empathy Community Services’ values of integrity, empathy & understanding aligns perfectly with her own. Her passion lies in delivering authentic customer service excellence whilst ensuring the commercial viability of the business to ensure we reach as many clients as possible to make positive impacts in their lives.

Sallymatu joined Empathy Community Services after a commercial career in the banking sector in Ghana, and Internal & external audit functions in Freetown, Accra, and Brisbane. With 15 years local experience in state government departments in Brisbane, Sallymatu has worked in different areas within the Finance, and Accounting, managing the Asset and Account Receivable functions.

Sallymatu is extremely passionate about providing financial literacy training and Financial coaching services to women and young professionals to help them achieve financial independence to live the lifestyle they desire.

Sallymatu overseas the development of daily living life skills, day programs and plan management but her influence is also felt across many areas including Community Services, Sales, Finance and Capacity Building. Given her background, she can help drive process improvements and improve the
link of Operations and Customer Service by leading our complaints and Customer Experience process.

Sallymatu was born in Sierra Leone on the West Coast of Africa and migrated to Australia under the refugee resettlement scheme in July 2005. Sallymatu has volunteered in several senior Boards positions for Community organisations for example, Treasure for Brisbane Ethnic Music and Arts Centre (BEMAC), Soroptimist International Logan branch (SIL), Muslim Charitable Foundation (MCF) and President for Queensland African Community Council (QACC),) and Wanwod Association of
Queensland Inc (WAQ).
